Status note: The core campaign is playable offline after a one-time connection for the Day 1 patch. Leaderboards, challenges, and some account-linked features still require internet access.

Is there co-op or competitive multiplayer?

No. The official FAQ says IO Interactive is focused on the single-player experience and that this does not include multiplayer. No co-op campaign, PvP mode, or separate multiplayer roadmap has been announced.

Can you play offline?

Yes. A one-time internet connection is required to download the Day 1 patch. After that, the full main campaign can be played offline. Staying online is recommended for features such as leaderboards and challenges.

What carries across platforms?

IOI Account cross-progression covers Tac Sim Clearance Level, Tac Sim XP, Tac Sim inventory, Tac Sim challenges, and IOI Account entitlements.

  • Campaign progression does not transfer.
  • Achievements and collectibles do not transfer.
  • Leaderboards do not transfer.
  • Game or DLC ownership does not transfer between platforms.

Could multiplayer be added later?

There is no official multiplayer announcement. The Year One roadmap focuses on story missions, Tactical Simulations, equipment, challenges, locations, and other single-player support, so claims about a future multiplayer mode remain speculation.
